Happy Sunday!
This week is all about digging in more ways than one!
Digging holes
Both yesterday and today were spent digging in the garden. It sounds like a lot of effort, but it was a few hours over the weekend. But, the vitamin D was much needed, even for this ginger!
There is something about spending time in nature that simultaneously calms us and energises us. It’s always good for our souls.
I have read many articles about how we are hard-wired for nature; our eyes love the visual stimulation of fractals. I, for one, had forgotten how much I love being connected to the earth.
Even if you struggle physically to dig holes, and that is me, I really recommend you get outside.
Sitting outside with your morning coffee on a sunny day can work wonders for your mental well-being.
The other digging was less physical and much more mental.
Digging deep!
As many of you know, I am already a qualified coach; and I have been on a mission to get more qualifications around counselling. So it’s something that has been taking up a lot of headspace recently for sure.
This is where the digging comes in…
I have been doing a lot of work on myself recently. I know that I am someone that loves to learn. I am someone who cannot watch anything without jumping on Google to find out more.
I also know that I am always trying to prove a point due to things said to me in childhood.
So what does this have to do with digging?
To get to the bottom of why I wanted to the course, I had to ask why. However, in coaching, asking someone why is frequently found upon!
But you know me, I am never one to shy away from controversy, so why it is!
Why do you want to do this course?
Why do you think it will help you?
Why do this exact course?
Why, why, why!?!
You get the idea. You keep questioning until you can’t dig any deeper. Of course, I’d love to take credit for this, but I can’t. Whilst I was already using this technique, I have to admit that Ali Knight was the one who got me back into using it again.
If there is something that you need to dig deep on, I would encourage you to try this technique. It can be hard at first, but I promise you, you’ll find the treasure you’re seeking!
That’s all for this week; I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend
Be excellent to each other!
