Happy Sunday!
I am always amazed at how quickly Sunday rolls around. That is not a problem though, as this routine of sitting down to write is becoming something I look forward to doing.
Toughening up
This week has been challenging to say the least. Unfortunately, I can’t go into great detail for many reasons. First of all, it’s not appropriate, but secondly, you’d be bored to tears!
This week was not the first time I had had my fingers burnt when I gave too much of myself away to people. There is great learning if you look for it, as with most things. In my case, it’s all about trust and friendships.
I often choose to open up to people pretty quickly. This is because I am not a fan of hiding things, particularly when it comes to mental health and how we feel. However, this week, I’ve realised that maybe I need to be a little more guarded with people until I know that they are someone that I can genuinely trust.
I’ve said this is toughening up, but it’s more about ensuring that I have more boundaries in place; yeah, we’re back to them again!
As ever, I am a work in progress. We all are.
Trademarks
I don’t want to leave you in a place of woe. If you’re following me on Facebook, you’ll already know this. But this week, The Hive Mind Company became a trademark!
This was a great lesson in patience, if I am honest. I started the process before Christmas. But I quickly got a letter back stating that other trademarks were similar to what I was after. In reality, it was just because they had HIVE in the name.
You get the option to respond, but I decided to trust the process, which is something new to me! So this is another lesson that I think we could all do with learning.
Sometimes there is a great temptation to get involved. Fortunately, the businesses were not similar; the names were not either. I could have spent a lot of time constructing a response to the letter. Instead, I decided to let things evolve as they needed to.
So on April Fool’s Day, at 18.17, I got an email with my trademark certificate!
Sometimes you need to let the universe do its thing.
Be excellent to each other, I’ll see you next week
